:-(

It looks like from the previous post that I won't play j'ouvert after all. Gutted!

Well what started it was the worry about my eyes first of all which Buuble made me think of.
Then once I looked at the fete the Sun morning, kiddies during the day. I don't really want to be rushing to take paint off and still have half on and trying to leave the house to go play meh pretty mas. And that will also involve no sleep till Mon night.

Gutted you guys. But its practical. My eyes don't feel fantastic yet. Still trying to be hopeful. Buublenut was it like this for you? I have my check up Sat afternoon. Buuble if you could remember how long it took you drop me a line girl. I trying not to be paranoid and desperate lol.

oh sorry to hear the recovery is slow. :(
Don't feel too bad you'll be skippin JV, the way I figure it, sure, you could do it & then go straight to Mon. mas, but I personally wanna be "bright eyed & bushy tailed" for Mon., not sleep deprived.

That is the thing self Kara. I want to go sunnyside up bad now. And I can't do j'ouvert and that.
But if I was to go somewhere Sat night instead..the way I was feeling last night i'd be all over J'ouvert. but i'd try and leave early if that happened.
i want to be clean, fresh, no sign of any mud, paint and having a time on de road Mon. AGREED

icahwait hope what you are experiencing is normal in terms of recovery. I know you must be anxious seeing as Carnivalis fast approaching and you know how peopel can be wild throwing drinks and paint in the air! You have to be very protective of the eyes, don't forget the sunglasses.

You can makeup for missing j'ouvert with Monday Mas!If you like you can even wear some body paint on Monday or get airbrushed!! I am with Karabana, I prefer to save all my energy for Monday mas.

There is no way I forgetting the sunglasses as I had carnival in mind when I bought them anyway. And my eyes will feel sensitive to the light so I'll have a need for them.
My husband is def anti-j'ouvert for my eyes at this point.
you know you had that post with the stencils temp tattos etc, its just that I don't know what would go with my jamette costume?
Jumbie has dragon, you have fire theme to go with yours, but what I will really do with mine?

Jamette is kinda hard to match unless you do a regular type of tattoo like a butterfly. I will take a look at the stencils and see what options are there.

Hey Girl - I trying to remember but my surgery was almost 2 years ago now. But I remember for the first week or so I was sleeping with the patches - it was uncomfortable and on some mornings my eyes would be so dry I couldn’t even open them (or it at least felt like that) and I had to put drops in. I swear girl I remember waking up in the middle of the night and putting drops in in my sleep - I am now the eye drop queen - I get them in first shot all the time, people look at me and wonder.

Don’t worry you should be fine. My surgery was in Sept. and I reach Carnival Feb.

(This might gross some of you so sorry) Can you still see the red marks where they sliced your eye?? You could on me for a while. I am sure you will be fine, its just a little uncomfortable because what happened was foreign to your body and your eyes are trying to repair themselves. How do you feel now - how did Sat. go?? I hope your doing better, hang in there - you will be happy in the end. Have you gotten water in your eyes yet. Start by splashing a bit when you wash your face and see how it feels. Don’t miss J’Ouvert :( your eyes will definitely be good by then – it’s a month away (do you have a appt before you leave??) Don’t forget (and I know I told you before) to carry eye drops in your hand luggage on the plane.

Hang in there, I remember being very paranoid with my eyes as well. Smoke used to bug them for a while and cause them to tear. Hope this helps you out. Let me know if you have any more questions.

buublenut :)

"the red marks where they sliced your eye??"
OMfreakinG, MORE reason to be afraid of this!!!!:(!!
Odd though, in Oct. someone at the gym I went to had it & there she was back working out after a few days & said her recovery was super quick, & she said had no side effects... guess it's bc of the different kinds of laser surgery....??...
I think you'd be recovered in a month though Icahwait*
